Steel Dowel Pins Smooth 1/8″ X 1″
Steel Dowel Pins Smooth 1/8″ X 1″
These steel dowel pins smooth 1/8″ X 1″ are precision hardened and ground parallel pins, engineered to tight tolerance limits, for accurate locating and alignment, in drilled and reamed holes. BPC offer a complete range of hardened steel dowel pins, both plain, grooved and tapped in either metric or imperial standard measurements.
I have a huge range of dowel pins, slotted spring pins, and coiled spiral pins. In steel and stainless steel. Dowel pins available in hardened steel both grooved and part grooved and tapered I have large quantities held in stock that can be dispatched immediately.
I have listed small quantities here in this category as most of us do not need hundreds of dowel pins at anyone time, if you find that you need more than the listed quantity you can adjust the count at the quantity box.

Usage for Steel Dowel Pins Smooth 1/8″ X 1″ (mills pins)are many. Solid Dowel type pins are mainly used for location or alignment purposes when bringing two mating components together. Some of these may be tapered or grooved (we have them in stock).
Other types available include steel slotted Spring pins, split pins, rolled Spring pins and part grooved pins,
Grooved pins are solid pins with three swaged grooves at 120° pitch along all or part of their length. When the pin is driven into a drilled hole of suitable diameter, the material displaced by the grooving process is forced back, to partially close up the grooves and lock the pin into place. Solid grooved pins do not need a precision reamed hole and they can have parallel grooves or tapered grooves.
Parallel grooves give the pin high resistance to vibration, but need more force to insert. BPC can supply pins that can be grooved on only part of the length, so that where the pin has to be firmly fixed in one part of an assembly, but be a clearance fit on the other, both parts can be drilled to the same diameter.
